Finally got tired of fighting with dull bits on thin metal — this one punched through clean and the two-step design saved me from having to swap bits mid-job. The black oxide finish seems like it’ll last, and it didn’t grab or chatter at all.
Wasn't sure if this step bit could handle stainless, but it chewed through like butter and the black oxide finish still looks new after a full toolbox drawer's worth of holes.
Drilled through a dozen holes in 1/8-inch aluminum without any galling, and the step transitions are clean. The dual-flute design actually clears chips fast, so my cordless drill didn't bog down once.
