The paddle switch with the brake is the reason I picked this over others, and it stops the disc almost instantly when I let go. Even on a thick steel plate, it never bogged down and the battery lasted through a solid session of grinding.

Swapped out my old corded grinder for this one and the braking feature alone is worth it—wheel stops almost instantly when you release the paddle. The 6-inch capacity gives me extra reach on bigger cuts without having to switch tools.

The paddle switch and no-lock design take some getting used to, especially if you're coming from a slide switch, but the braking feature stops the wheel fast which feels safe. It's decent for lighter grinding jobs, though the 18V battery drains quicker than I'd like when pushing it on thicker metal.
